If you’ve never visited Pawley’s Island you’re in for a treat! This quaint town provides something for everyone from the history buff, outdoor enthusiast, shopper, golfer or  food and wine enthusiast.

Pawley’s Island 

Located 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach, SC, Pawley’s Island is one of the oldest summer resorts on the East  Coast. The families of rice planters who owned plantations on nearby rivers first settled Pawley’s Island in the early 1700s. Today there are 12 remaining residences in the historic district which date from the late 1700s to the mid 1800s. Georgetown, SC, Wooden Boat Show

The 23rd annual Georgetown, SC, Wooden Boat Show takes place this Saturday, Oct 20th and promises to be lots of fun for the entire family. It’s one of my husband’s favorite annual events to attend! I also enjoy the small-town waterfront festival which includes maritime arts and crafts, food and music.  Make it a family event– the kids and grandkids will enjoy the children’s model boat building as well.
