Iron Man 3 Filming near Yaupon Beach Pier on Oak Island
The movie Iron Man 3 has been filming on the beach at Oak Island near Yaupon Fishing Pier. We happened to arrive yesterday just in time to watch a spectacular site of five parachute jumpers, dropped from a plane, land at a precise spot on the beach. Water patrols were available had they been needed in case of a water landing.
Unofficial sources, including the man behind the counter at the pier, said filming would continue into next week. Plan to go: as you drive towards Oak Island, watch for unofficial, coded signs for the crew with a big “C” that point to the filming location.
