A revolutionary smart phone application and event management system that enables live scoring was used successfully this past September during the 28th Annual Golf.Com World Amateur Handicap Championship in Myrtle Beach, SC.
The live event scoring marked the first time that the technology was available for competitors, spectators, and fans at the World Am. Live scoring was accessed via a web-connected computer and through a cross-platform phone application using mobile devices (iPhone, Android, and Blackberry) and non-mobile devices including iPad, iTouch and Samsung Galaxy Tab.
“The World Am was a huge success for us and this technology,” said Bob Selby, co-founder and CEO of Grow The Game Golf. “We were able to provide live scoring for all 76 players and it made following the final round much easier for everyone who logged onto our system with their smart phone while walking the course at TPC Myrtle Beach.”
