Best Breakfast in Charleston, SC

(by Sarah Chambers, Southern-Traveller Restaurant Reviewer

People want to know–where is the best place to eat breakfast in Charleston?  While I know there’s a lot of competition and many excellent choices,  my favorite  is Toast.  What’s great is that you don’t have to leave your comfortable bed at the crack of dawn to quench your breakfast food craving because Toast serves breakfast all day long!

Toast on Urbanspoon

The item most raved about breakfast choice is the Eggs Meeting Street – a fried green tomato topped with a crab cake, poached egg and Low country remoulade sauce, served with home fries or grits (available in a single or double serving).

Their $10 Bottomless Mimosas deal isn’t too shabby either. If you are not in the breakfast mood, don’t fret. They also serve up other specialties such as Shrimp and Grits – sautéed shrimp, tomatoes, peppers, onions & sausage with garlic, deglazed with white wine and served with a lobster cream sauce over grits and Crab Cake Sammies – blue crab, peppers, onions & Low country spices, fried crispy and served on a grilled kaiser roll, topped with red pepper remoulade.
